ABSTRACT
Anemia is one of the nutritional problems that occurs in Indonesia, especially in teenage girls. Teenage girls have a risk ten times more likely to suffer from iron deficiency compared to teenage men. The prevalence of anemia in teenage girls in 2013 in Indonesia increased to 22,7% and in 2018 it increased to 48,9% and the city of Padang reached 14,8%. The aim of the study was to determine the effect of spinach and tomato juice on increasing haemoglobin levels in teenage girls at SMK Negeri 3 Padang.
This type of research is quantitative and is a survey with a quasi-experimental design. The study population was teenage girls at SMK Negeri 3 Padang and a sample of 18 people with purposive sampling taking technique. The type of data used is primary data by giving spinach and tomato juice and measuring haemoglobin levels before and after treatment. Univariate and bivariate data analysis were processed computerized using paired sample t-test.
The results of the study obtained a mean before treatment of 11,8 g/dl and a mean after treatment of 12,9 g/dl and an average increase of 1,0 g/dl in teenage girls of SMK Negeri 3 Padang. It was also found that Ha was accepted with p value, which is 0,000 means
