The Effect of Premarital Counseling on Pre-conceptual Nutrition on Knowledge and Attitudes of Premarital Infertile Women at Pauh Public Health Center Padang City in 2019

ABSTRACT
Nutritional conditions that are not good for pregnant women will be the cause of pain and death. Data from UNICEF, the prevalence of CED in pregnant women in the world reaches 41%. Riskesdas in 2018, in Indonesia pregnant women who experienced CED were 17,3% and in West Sumatra pregnant women were 16%. Poor maternal nutrition before and during pregnancy will have an impact on the first 1000 days of a baby's life. This study aims to determine the effect of premarital counseling on preconception nutrition on the level of knowledge and attitudes of premarital reproductive-age women at Pauh Public Health Center Padang City in 2019.
This type of research is quasi-experimental with the design of one group pre-post-test design conducted at Pauh Public Health Center Padang City in February-June 2019. The population of women of childbearing age who are unmarried, who will plan marriage in March 2019 and will be immunized catin. Samples were taken using a purposive sampling technique with a total of 16 people. Data collection using a questionnaire. Then the data is processed and analyzed by univariate and bivariate.
The results of the study showed that the average level of knowledge of WUS before being given premarital counseling was 10,50 and WUS's attitude before being given premarital counseling was 54,75. The average level of knowledge of WUS after being given premarital counseling was 18,00 and the average attitude of WUS after being given premarital counseling was 67,38. Statistical results showed the influence of premarital counseling on preconception nutrition on the level of WUS knowledge (p = 0,000) and WUS attitude (p = 0,000).
The results of the study concluded that there was the effect of premarital counseling on preconception nutrition on the level of knowledge and attitudes of WUS, so that health workers, especially midwives, were expected to further improve counseling programs on pre-conception nutrition and provide counseling facilities in the form of premarital health guidebooks for WUS who were married provide health education at the time of the wedding regarding healthy nutrition that is useful for pregnancy later.
