ABSTRACT

The sanitation clinic is one of the health center services that integratespromotive, preventive curative, and rehabilitative efforts that have a role, among others, as an information center, referral center, environmental health facilitator. The Salido clinic health center runs smoothly, each patient with pulmonary TB disease is referred to a sanitation clinic because patients do not know about pulmonary TB disease and there are also errors that occur from pulmonary TB policemen, that officers forget to refer patients to sanitation clinics, because sanitarian officers do not remind back to the pulmonary TB poly officer. The purpose of this study was to determine the knowledge of pulmonary TB patients before and after counseling at a sanitation clinic in the Salido health center.
This type of research is descriptive. This research was conducted at Salido District Health Center IV Jurai, South Coastal District. The population in this study were all patients with pulmonary TB at Salido Health Center. The sample in this study was pulmonary TB patients who came to consult a sanitation clinic at the time of the study. Primary data obtained from questionnaires given to patients with pulmonary TB at the Salido Health Center to obtain information about knowledge before and after counseling.

The results of the study showed that from the knowledge before the counseling was done by the sanitarian officer most of the respondents had low knowledge about pulmonary TB disease as many as 7 people (87.5%). For the results of knowledge after counseling there is an increase in knowledge in patients as many as 8 people (100%).
Suggestions in this study are for sanitarian officers to provide counseling using tools such as posters, so that patients can more easily understand counseling given to patients. And for patients, you should listen to counseling that is given well.
