Description of Food Consumption Source of Cholesterol and Fiber Source in Outpatient Coronary Heart Disease Patients at Aisyiyah Pariaman Hospital in 2019

ABSTRACT

Coronary heart disease is a disorder caused by narrowing or inhibition of arteries that drain blood to the heart muscle. Based on the 2013 Riskesdas data, the incidence of CHD in Indonesia was 1.5%, in West Sumatra 1.2%, and data in Kota Pariaman as much as 1.9%. Generally this disease is caused by unhealthy behavior or lifestyle, including consumption of foods that are high in cholesterol and low in fiber. The purpose of this study was to describe the consumption of food sources of cholesterol and fiber sources in Outpatient Coronary Heart Disease patients at Aisyiyah Pariaman Hospital in 2019.
This research is descriptive, Cross Sectional Study research design with Accidental Sampling method conducted from September 2018 to May 2019 at Aisyiyah Pariaman Hospital to 45 respondents. Data collection uses the SQ-FFQ form. Data processing techniques are carried out by compurterization and manual with univariate data analysis.
The results showed that the majority of respondents suffered from CHD (68.9%). Food sources of cholesterol that are often consumed are tuna (97.7%), more than half of the respondents the frequency of consumption of food sources of cholesterol is high (53.3%) with an average intake of 188.67 mg / day. Fiber sources are often consumed by respondents in the form of tofu (82.2%), carrots (75.5%), papaya (68.8%) and palm oil (100%). All respondents (100%) had a low frequency of consumption of fiber-based food ingredients with an average fiber intake of 2.62 mg / day.
It is recommended that patients with CHD be able to live a healthy lifestyle, avoid consuming foods that are high in cholesterol and consume a lot of fiber sources.
