The condition of malnutrition can cause disorders of growth and development, especially in development can result in changes in brain structure and function. As a result of malnutrition in a long time can cause conditions of growth failure in children which will lead to the occurrence of stunting. The prevalence of toddlers with malnutrition in West Sumatra in 2017 is 14.2%. For the city of Padang the prevalence of under-fives with malnutrition is 11.7%. The prevalence of children under five with the highest nutritional status is found in the working area of ​​the Pauh Community Health Center, which is 17.0%. Kapalo Koto Village is one of the kelurahan in Pauh Subdistrict which has the highest prevalence of malnutrition, which is 28.6%. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of toddler growth in the Kapalo Koto Village, Pauh Kota Padang Subdistrict in 2018.

This research is descriptive using a cross sectional study design. The study was conducted in December 2018 in the Kapalo Koto Village, Pauh District, Padang City. The sample is 76 toddlers. Primary data from this study include data on growth and development of children under five. Secondary data data obtained from Puskesmas and Padang City Health Office. Data analysis was performed univariately using the SPSS program.
The results showed that the normal growth of toddlers was 76.3%, and the growth of toddlers who were not normal was 23.7%. Most of the development of toddlers is in accordance with 61.8%, dubious at 28.9%, and deviations at 9.2%. Children with good growth and development are 50%, and children with bad growth are 50%.

It is recommended that mothers who have toddlers can increase their knowledge about toddler growth by participating in counseling from health workers, seeking information through mass media and electronics.
