Parenting Style for Feeding Mothers in Autistic Children in Autism Extraordinary Schools (SLB) Andalas Potential Development Foundation (YPPA) in Padang City in 2019

ABSTRACT
In autistic children nutritional problems that often arise are more nutrition and malnutrition. Nutritional problems are caused by direct factors and indirect factors. The role of the mother is very much needed in monitoring the consumption patterns of autistic children. Mothers play an important role in educating their children through parenting. The upbringing done by the mother is expected to avoid the consumption of wrong and bad food. Irma (2014) stated that in Jakarta and Bogor as many as 26.7% of mothers with autistic children had low parenting habits, as many as 43.3% of mothers of autistic children had moderate parenting and as many as 30% of mothers of autistic children had good parenting. The purpose of this study was to determine the description of feeding patterns in children with autism in the Autism SLB YPPA Andalas, Padang City in 2019.
The type of this study was a descriptive study with a cross sectional design to describe the parenting style of eating autistic children at the Autism SLB YPPA Andalas, Padang City in 2019. The population of all autistic children in Autism SLB YPPA Andalas, Padang City was 49 people. Where the entire population is used as the subject of research. Data analysis consisted of univariate analysis. When research was conducted in March-April 2019.
The results of the study showed that the parenting habits of mothers of autistic children were not good (67.3%). But there are still respondents who have good parenting as much as 32.1%.
For further research it is recommended to examine the picture of consumption patterns in autistic children. Advice for mothers should make food rotations for children so that children's nutrition can be fulfilled even with all kinds of food ingredients that are not recommended by children
