ABSTRACT

Food sanitation hygiene is an effort to control food factors, people, places, and equipment that can or may cause illness or health problems. From the observations made on the personal hygiene of sugarcane ice traders and sanitation of sugar cane processing facilities, we found several things as follows. Personal hygiene, for sugar cane processing sites, many traders sell ice cane on the edge of the Adinegoro road , causing pollution. The aim of the study was to determine the Sanitation Hygiene and the Escherichia coli Content of Sugar Cane Drinks along the Adinegoro Padang Road in 2019.

This type of research is descriptive, namely describing hygiene and sanitation in sugarcane ice drinks , collecting data by observing the object under study by using a checklist and checking Escherichia coli bacteria on sugarcane ice drinks at the UPTD Health Laboratory Center in West Sumatra Province. The data obtained is presented in table form. Observation results obtained in the field compared to Kepmenkes No. 942 / Menkes / SK / VII / 2003 regarding snack food and the results of examinations at the UPTD Padang Health Laboratory Center compared with Kepmenkes RI No. 492 / Menkes / SK / IV / 2010 tent ang drinking water quality.

The results showed that the personal hygiene of sugarcane ice drinkers along Adinegoro Road was not good. For sanitation, processing sites have unclean sanitation. For sanitation of sugarcane ice equipment 4 out of 7 traders have good sanitation. For sanitation, processing sugar cane has poor sanitation. The results of examination of Escherichia coli 2 bacteria from 7 samples examined positive contained Escherichia coli .

Traders are expected to pay more attention to personal hygiene in maintaining personal hygiene, especially in the hands and sanit a si es processing of sugarcane and the health professionals to supervise the food vendors iced drinks cane.
